Welcome you to the Gulf English School website where you will begin to get a feeling for who we are and what motivates us.

GES is a dynamic, successful school celebrating 35 years of education in Kuwait.

At GES we aim to offer the highest standards of British education within an Arabic culture and international environment. We provide a warm, friendly environment in which children learn to care for one another and understand and appreciate the multi-cultural world in which we live. There is a great emphasis on understanding cultural differences, racial harmony and tolerance. We stress fair play and equality and our students have the opportunity to make lasting friendships with others from many different nations.

Teaching and Learning is at the heart of the school. Our teachers engage, challenge and support all of their students, create classrooms that are safe, secure places to learnand monitor the progress of students throughout each lesson. Students are encouraged to focus their energies on successful learning, take responsibility for their own learning and act in a considerate and co-operative manner

In addition to the excellent learning relationships, the school's range of ECAs and out of hours learning enables our students to become confident, creative individuals. We will ensure that they continue to benefit from these; to contribute to communities both in Kuwait and globally and to develop a sense of responsibility and ultimately to become citizens, achievers and leaders of the twenty first century in our rapidly changing and uncertain world.

Community links are important to us and we seek close partnerships with a wide variety of establishments both in Kuwait and further afield with our partnership school in the UK.

I look forward to sharing GES successes with you as the year goes on.

Linda Talbot

Acting Director / Secondary Head teacher

Gulf English School Primary Department works hard to provide a centre of excellence in teaching and learning. There is a great willingness to embrace new approaches, and new ways of learning. We strive to sow and nurture the seed of life-long learning – each pupil to their own potential. Bright stimulating classrooms provide the bedrock from which our pupils learn. We are very proud of our pupils and our pupils achievement.

Curricular and extracurricular activities blend, and this helps to form the character of the child. We encourage inquiry, curiosity, and co-operation. We teach leadership and active participation so that our children will be capable of responsible choices. We develop respect in our children for themselves, those around them and their environment.

There is a whole community behind this school. It is important that each part of that community works together in the best interest of each individual child.

I am very proud of what we do.
