A high-quality physical education curriculum inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. We provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect.

We follow the National Curriculum in KS1, KS2 and KS3, to develop the understanding of personal health and physical development; creating opportunities for the expansion of movement skills and allowing students to create positive relationships.

The movement areas are Invasion Games and Target Games. In these units, we focus on a number of different sports and modified games such as unihoc, football, volleyball, bench ball, netball and basketball.

Through these learning areas, we focus on Active Involvement, Acceptance of Challenges, Self-Management, Movement and Motor Skills and Relating to Others. All of these skills are important to maintain a healthy lifestyle and give students the skills to live a healthy life once they leave school.

We also have a swimming pool on site which enables students in Key Stage 2 and Key stage 3 to learn to swim competently, confidently and proficiently. We typically begin with water confidence lessons in lower KS2.

We offer our students opportunities to get involved in a number of after-school activities. These activities include competitions in theKFSACleague (Kuwait Foreign Schools Activities Conference) for primary and ISSFK, (International Schools Sports Federation in Kuwait) for primary and secondary. These leagues involve playing a wide range of sports against other International schools in Kuwait.

Gulf English school also offers organized play during breaktimes, which is played internally with students. We also offer after-school activities and want all students to be able to participate in these activities as there are many rewarding benefits.  The activities occur at different times during the year.
