WELCOME FROM THE SCHOOL MANAGER
Welcome to Gulf English School, Kuwait. We are a Primary and Secondary school with a long and proud tradition of serving the educational needs of our community. We are celebrating our 38th year Anniversary in 2018 and we will continue to strive for another 38 years and more.
At GES we place great emphasis on the academic, physical and social growth of each individual student. As a school community we continue to nurture the uniqueness of our students and we strive to educate each young person to reach their potential and enable them to be the best that they can be.
I have worked at GES for the past 18 years and in this time I have been part of a great family who continue to support and nourish the lives of the people who are at the heart of our school – students, staff and parents. Our students are taught rights and responsibilities via a number of programmes, notably through the Primary and Secondary Student Councils and through our whole school programme of Personal and Social Education that teaches our children how to behave with one another, how to care about others, how to excel in their studies and in social and sporting environments, and how to become the best student they can. This is helped through a high quality programme of teaching and learning across the school where students are also taught responsibilities such as responsibility towards one another, responsibilities for their own learning and to be responsible in showing their positive attitudes towards life in general: we owe a duty of care towards every single child at GES and we encourage this caring attitude throughout the whole school.
We are continually seeking educational opportunities to support our students and over the years we have introduced and developed many new programmes such as edmodo, class dojo and project based learning. We offer all the educational programmes – SATs, IGCSE, AS levels and AS2.
We are continually adapting and responding to the needs of our students and we are providing them with the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of inspiring projects during their school life – The Art Exhibition, Student of the Month Awards, Injaz, Key Stage Productions, University Introductions, Local School trips, School trips abroad which are just a few of many more.
We, at the Gulf English School, take great pride in our students and, with the support of all of the school community including their parents and our teachers, we will continue to encourage them and support them to be the best that they can be ready to participate in the every decreasing global village that is the world and to be ready to enter an ever changing world that requires new and different skills.
